What an honor to work on this thoughtfully imagine

What an honor to work on this thoughtfully imagined and beautifully designed screened porch addition for such a fantastic client. This additional living space boasts two flush-mount heaters, a tasteful lighting plan, and 270 degree golf course views. The owner wanted it to look like it had always been there, and it does! This was accomplished through consistent replication of architectural features pulled from the house, including exposed rafter tails, a low-pitched roof, and clean lines throughout.

At Cherry Blossom Homes, we know that a breathtaking room and a cozy inspiration photo — the spaces that take your breath away — are really aggregated from layers of intentionality and craftsmanship. There aren’t passive decisions in design.

And sometimes, after staring at moulding and imagining every idea and decision that resulted in a cohesive and classic room, or analyzing the many materials and joints in a statement chair, or talking with craftsmen who have honed their trade through passion and legacy and commitment… Sometimes you just want to put your hands on a block of wood and turn into something beautiful. To feel the rough edges turn to satin. To make the decision to honor an imperfection as something beautiful.

This was just a bowl, but it was a weekend of working with people who have spent their lives refining and sharing their craft, and a weekend of feeling inspired by the many layers of intentionality that turn into something beautiful.

A remodeler’s camera roll is full of treasures! One of the things I do with clients is create a shared folder of pictures so that we can leverage it for a record of everything that’s happened and to track our journey together. Because a project is not just befores and afters... It’s everything that comes in between that makes it a success.

I lovingly call this project the “firehouse”, and

I lovingly call this project the “firehouse”, and I’m thrilled to share that the work is advancing, and every day we get closer to making this a home again. We are on the cusp of insulation and putting up actual walls again, and so this next update will feel transformational! But the work done to now has been fundamental to how this house will live in the future. Stay tuned for more!

You might remember this second floor remodel that packs a punch? After about 5 trips to the lumberyard, we are wrapping up framing, and now we can see it take shape: two offices, two flex spaces, a bedroom, bathroom and a kitchenette! Stick around to see more progress!

And after getting the layout just right and checking off the wishlist, now we are digging in to this full remodel, making the most of the second story of this house.
